EE.UU Las Vegas.- There’s been another change in the executive ranks at Las Vegas-based casino supplier Shuffle Master Inc.
The maker of card shufflers and other gaming equipment on Monday said Chief Operating Officer David Lopez will serve as interim CEO and will join the board of directors while the board of directors continues its search for a permanent CEO.
Lopez succeeds board member Phillip Peckman, who had been chairman of the board and on April 26 was named interim CEO.
Peckman was named interim CEO because the deteriorating health of Timothy J. Parrott resulted in Parrott no longer serving as CEO or on the board of directors. Parrott died in May.
Also on Monday, Shuffle Master said Garry W. Saunders was appointed permanent chairman of the board. He had served as interim non-executive chairman since April 26.
Peckman remains on the board.
Linster Fox, executive vice president and chief financial officer, said in an interview Tuesday that the changes were made by the board as a new fiscal year began Monday and there was a desire to have an operating executive at the helm while the board continued its search for a permanent CEO.
“The board deeply appreciates Phillip Peckman’s service as interim chief executive officer during an important time for the company,” Saunders said in a statement.
Lopez has served as president of Shuffle Master Americas, president of the utility division and executive director of product management, launching numerous products during his 12 years with the company.
