Cuando uno empieza a escribir un blog, realmente la sensación de libertad que se siente es inexplicable e inexpugnable, al menos es lo que a mí me sucede desde que comencé esta tarea hace casi 2 años.

Desde el comienzo mismo, la búsqueda fué por el camino de la evolución, tanto desde las aplicaciones como (lo más importante) desde los contenidos.

El trabajo de elaboración, construcción y suscripción ha sido sumamente arduo y recompensado en la misma medida.

Este blog no es un blog de turismo o de viajes en el sentido más purista, pero sí específicamente estratificado.

Pertenece a un hostel, Hostel Colonial, sito en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina y si bien admite una lectura comercial, puesto que además de temas relacionados con el día a día del hostel (un negocio de alojamiento turístico por cierto muy particular), también realizo sendas referencias a otros negocios como Almacén Suipacha (www.almacénsuipacha.com.ar) o la Parrilla El Gaucho (www.parrillaelgaucho.com) o La Casona del Nonno o La Posada de 1820, restaurantes de reconocido prestigio que pertenecen a la sociedad de la cual formo parte.

Por otra parte todo el resto del contenido no relacionado a emprendimientos propios o cualquier otra referencia textual o gráfica que desarrolle en este blog no responde a ningún tipo de interés más allá del relato o de la experiencia en sí mismos.

Es un hecho que cada nota que escribo intenta reflejar desde una visión subjetiva que trata de no perder por ello objetividad, distintos aspectos turísticos de Buenos Aires en particular, de Argentina en general y del hostel en especial como genérico de una categoría.

También hay notas de color, eventos, videos, imágenes y temas que requieren ser tratados con cierto cuidado como el de la feria “La Salada”, que si bien no tiene escencialmente una matriz turística, la demanda los transforma en tales.

Hace unos días, un sujeto supuestamente de la ciudad de Rosario, Argentina, me cuestionaba en términos durísimos y anónimos obviamente, la presencia de este blog en los Bloggers Choice Awards, www.bloggerschoiceawards.com , nominado (no autonominado) como Best Travel Blog, existiendo en la Argentina y en el resto del mundo blogs de categoría superlativa, quizás como el suyo, tiendo a suponer.

No me interesa confrontar pero quizás ese señor deba leer como funciona BChA o mejor aún leer la nota que nos dedicó Amanda Kendle en www.jaunted.com, cargada de sarcasmo a punto tal que en principio los chicos del staff la mal interpretaron, pero que logra resumir el espíritu de esa nominación y de la gran comunidad que construimos en el mundo real y que actualmente se ve reflejada en ese accionar (léase votos). El título de esa nota es: Lost and pickled in Buenos Aires.

En referencia a otros blogs de viajes, turismo o relacionados a la industria, con diversidad de enfoques, sin dudas los hay excelentes, tengo mis elegidos y puedo afirmar que cada uno directa o indirectamente a colaborado a construir el presente de este blog.

En español los que más me gustan son www.albertbarra.com y www.blogdeviajes.com.ar cuyo autor es Jorge Gobbi (alguien a quien debo conocer más allá de la blogosfera, cosa que no creo resulte tan difícil ya que ambos vivimos en Buenos Aires).

En inglés, la lista es mucho más amplia pero realmente los que más leo son a Nath desde www.ubertramp.com a Timen, a quien le debemos parte del cambio de imagen ( el que permite una plataforma como Blogger), autor de www.inmyallstars.com , www.travolution.com de Kevin May, www.nomad4ever.com y www.ramblingtraveler.com , cuya autora Stacy me dedicó un bello mensaje y www.theecuatraveler.com de Rob Meyer.

Gracias a todos, mochileros, viajeros independientes, a los que nos leen, critican, comentan y en definitiva ayudan a construir, que de eso se trata. Jorge.

El reintegro de IVA para turistas del extranjero está previsto en el Decreto 1099/98 y las Resoluciones Generales (AFIP) 380/81 y 381/99.
Los turistas extranjeros pueden solicitar el reintegro del IVA (VAT) por las compras de bienes de producción nacional, iguales o superiores a setenta pesos ($70) efectuadas en el país.
Para ello, cuando realices la compra deberás exigir al comerciante la entrega de la factura original tipo “B” o tique factura tipo “B” y el “Cheque Global Refund” con el Reintegro.
Antes de abandonar el país, deberás presentar los bienes, la factura o tique y el Cheque de Reintegro, para ser sellado por la Aduana.

IMPORTANTE: No es suficiente sólo con tu factura de compra. Sin el cheque no obtendrás ningún reintegro.

PASOS PARA ACCEDER AL REINTEGRO DEL IVA

1.- Comprar en las tiendas adheridas al sistema
Puedes consultar el listado de comercios adheridos en www.globalrefund.com
Comprar en las tiendas adheridas al sistema de reembolso que exhiban el logotipo de “TAX FREE Shopping”;
Solicitar tu “Cheque de reintegro” junto con la factura de compra.
Acreditar ante el vendedor tu condición de turista mediante la tarjeta o comprobante que entrega la Dirección Nacional de Migraciones, y el pasaporte o documento de identidad.

2.- Hacer inspeccionar los productos comprados
Al salir del país, los bienes adquiridos deben ser inspeccionados por personal de Aduanas junto con las facturas de compra y los “Cheques de Reintegro”. Tus cheques y facturas serán sellados por el funcionario interviniente.

IMPORTANTE: si no haces inspeccionar los bienes, no podrás solicitar el reintegro.

3.- Solicitar el reembolso
Con los “cheques de reintegro” sellados, puedes solicitar el reembolso en los Puestos de Reintegro instalados en aeropuertos y terminales o realizar el trámite en forma postal depositando tus cheques en buzones habilitados en todos los puntos de salida del país.

Para hacer efectivo el reembolso, puedes optar por las siguientes formas de reintegro:
1.- En efectivo
2.- Mediante acreditación en tu tarjeta de crédito
3.- Con un cheque bancario que será enviado al domicilio que indiques
4.- Por transferencia bancaria

Opposite the Casa Rosada on the Plaza de Mayo is the resplendent former Spanish town hall, the Cabildo, a fascinating old colonial building fronted by arches that once encircled the plaza, back during the May Revolution in 1810. The guards outside the building are members of the revered Regimiento de Patricios, which was formed in 1806. They still wear their traditional uniforms, designed nearly 200 years ago. The interior houses a small museum, which displays some interesting architectural relics, religious icons as well as watercolor paintings by Enrique Pellegrini.

One of the world’s most famous balconies juts out of Argentina’s Presidential Palace, known as the Casa Rosada. The pink building has been the scene of many a political rally, particularly during the regime of the notorious and tragic Juan and Eva Peron. The Italian style building, fronted with palm trees and fountains, was painted pink when it was converted from a Customs and Post Office building into the presidential palace. President Sarmiento decided to appease opposing political parties by merging red and white into a pink color scheme for the palace. Today the building houses a small basement museum displaying some presidential artifacts. Each evening a small platoon of mounted grenadiers emerge from the guardhouse to lower the flag on the Plaza, adding a touch of pomp and ceremony to the pretty building.

Other important buildings around the Plaza de Mayo include the Neoclassical Catedral Metropolitana, which houses the tomb of General José de San Martin, the revered hero who liberated Argentina from the Spanish. The cathedral was periodically rebuilt and renovated since the foundation stone was laid in the 16th century. The current structure was finally completed in the mid-19th century. The interior has recently been renovated and the gilded columns, Venetian mosaic floors, and silver-plated altar are in pristine condition.

An unlikely tourist attraction, La Recoleta Cemetery is well worth visiting to see its magnificent display of monuments and the ostentatious tombs of Argentina’s rich and famous. One of the more modest, but by far the most celebrated, is the grave of Eva Peron. Every day thousands of visitors come to leave flowers at the door of the Duarte family mausoleum, where she is buried. Forty years on, Evita remains both the most revered and reviled figure in Argentina. Love her or loather her, her spirit lives on in La Recoleta.

Plaza Dorrego lies in San Telmo, the bohemian artists’ quarter and the birthplace of tango. The tiny square is surrounded by elegant houses, now mostly converted into antique shops and bars whose tables overflow onto the street. On Sundays the plaza is the setting for the ancient antique market, the Feria de San Pedro Telmo. Though you are unlikely to discover any bargains you may find an interesting souvenir or two. The stallholders pack up their wares at 5pm and the square becomes the setting for informal tango dances. This is as popular with the locals as tourists and even the inexperienced may be tempted to try it out. There are numerous museums nearby the plaza worth visiting, including the Museo Histórico Nacional and the Museo de Arte Moderno.

City/Region: Buenos AiresThe Teatro Colón opened in 1908 is the second largest performing arts theater in the southern hemisphere, second only to the Sydney Opera House in Australia. It was designed by Italian architect Francisco Tamburri and is an Italian Renaissance-style building with a seating capacity of 2,500 (although more people have been squeezed in at a time). It has hosted many international performers including Nijinsky, Pavlov, Pavarotti and Domingo. Guided tours take visitors to the theater’s workshops, rehearsal rooms and auditorium and stage.

La Boca (’the mouth’) is the most colorful neighborhood or barrio in Buenos Aires, original home of soccer legend Diego Maradona and the tango. An assortment of brightly painted low houses made of wood and metal line the streets, including the famed main street Caminito, in this poor but happy area full of artisans, painters, street performers, cantinas and open-air tango shows. The neighborhood was originally settled by Italian immigrants, most of whom came to work in the docks. Today it is frequented by crowds of tourists who come to soak up the atmosphere.
