A fines del mes de Junio, abrió en el interior del restaurante Chueca, en la calle Alsina al 900 (a unas 12 cuadras del hostel), la primera librería gay de la ciudad de Buenos Aires.
Desde Hostel Colonial, como Gay Friendly Hostel, esperamos contar con mayor información para recomendar este nuevo espacio a todos los integrantes de la comunidad que nos visitan. Por ahora sólo puedo decirles que la mayoría de los libros son de la editorial española Egales.

Buenos Aires was elected as the “Intertational Destination” and “Destination of the Year” for the gay public according to the website OUT TRAVELER Reader´s Choice Awards 2008.
The readers voted in the argentinian capital defending its gay-friendly vibe and the cultural fusion as key factors to the success of the city in the taste of thousands of tourists worldwide. Buenos Aires remains as one of the favourites of the LGBT public, with more than 20 bars and discos, thousands of little street cafes and same-sex couples marriage totally legalized makes the modern city much more european than latin american like.
The Hostel Colonial suggests some nice places to go out like the Amerika, Glam, Club 69 and Pachá. Argentina, a wonderfull backpacking trip

Mochileiros falam de Argentina
Já era plano antigo do nosso grupo, 4 amigos aventureiros do sul do Brasil, mais especificamente da Porto Alegre, fazer um mochilao pela Patagônia Argentina, Buenos Aires e, o mais esperado de todos, Foz do Iguaçú.
“Aproveitando o cambio favorável, decidimos botar o pé na estrada nesse verao de 2008 e o resultado foi uma viagem incrível. As geleiras de Perito Moreno, bem ao sul, sao incríveis, gigantes e mais lindas do que parecem nas fotos. Lindas paisagens patagônicas, e depois subimos e paramos um fim de semana na famosa Buenos Aires. Foi aí que conhecemos o Hostel Colonial, recomendaçao do Fernando, com uma localizaçao perfeita e gente muito fina! Até conhecemos uma gaúcha que trabalha lá, e cada vez estamos mais convencidos de que esse mundo é realmente pequeno! Pequeno mas com infinitos lugares encantadores para a vista e o coraçao humano, e ansiosos, seguimos nossa trip rumo às Cataratas!
1300 km de estrada, também se pode ir em aviao, mas como bons mochileiros, fomos de busao mesmo, que saia da estaçao Retiro, pertinho do Hostel Colonial. Gente, que visita inesquecivel! Para os amantes da natureza, é um verdadeiro deleite! Tem várias opçoes de passeios e trilhas com guias, de bote, de helicóptero, guias pelas populares feiras de eletronicos e um pouco de tudo no lado paraguaio, cassino, expediçoes pelos parques e do lado brasileiro, mais quedas d’agua. Todos falam e é a real: O lado argentino, é o mais bonito. Nao só pela natureza mas também pela cidade. Puerto Iguazú tem varios hostels, barzinhos e apesar de pequena, é uma cidade super agradável de ficar. Estavamos devendo esse relato pra vocês. Roteiro 100% garantido! Buenos Aires will have its first exhibition gay. Between November 10 and November 11 will be held
Gallery G , a trade fair which will be submitted products and services that are the homosexual community as a target. So, since there will be clothing, technology, decoration objects, veterinary, esthetic treatments, travel agencies and a language center.
The 1st Expo and Shopping for the Gay Community: Gallery G will be done in Centro Costa Salguero and involved more than 70 companies. It will be a combination of art, culture and products of all kinds. There will also be an auditorium where shorts will be presented and shows.

Hostel Colonial tips for Gay and Lesbian Soccer World Championship 2007
Opening Ceremony
IGLFA WC2007 Opening Ceremony will take place on Sunday 23rd at Amerika Disco at 20 hours. During the ceremony the draw for Monday and Tuesday matches will take place.
WC2007 Inauguration
On Monday, September 24th the Inauguration Ceremony will take place at the Sarmiento Park. We ask all the teams to be in the fields by 9:30 hours. Buenos Aires City Government is developing the final program. The ceremony will include the team’s parade, players & referees oath. Friendship Circle will take place in this Inauguration and it’s being coordinated by the Community Homosexual Argentina (CHA). We are asking the teams to bring their country/city/team flag for the parade.
Tournament Schedule
During Monday and Tuesday, preliminary matches will be held. The 25 teams registered will be divided in five groups, right now the Latin Teams are the group heads, and during the Opening Ceremony a draw will take place for the allocation of the other 20 teams. The results of these matches will determine the first and second division teams. These teams will play on Thursday and Friday. Matches will start on Monday 24th at 11 hours.
