There was not enough time to post pictures of Buenos Aires in duotones. It´s a good time to do so. Transport photographed near Hostel Colonial in Corrientes Avenue and around the Luna Park Stadium. Taxi, bus ( colectivo, bondi) truck and camper, urban movement.

Sin dudas que Buenos Aires es una ciudad vibrante, si leen los últimos posts, no hago más que ratificarlo. La modernidad por momentos real y por momentos un tanto impostada, tiene un poderoso anclaje en una historia cercana, de hecho el edificio de Hostel Colonial es una casa con un poderoso flashback hacia otra concepción urbana, de la que es difícil desprenderse, al menos a mí me pasa y tiene que ver con objetos, algunos ya los he publicado aquí, que disparan recuerdos, olores, momentos con seres queridos, cosas que en definitiva forman parte de mi historia y me enorgullece conservar.

The Government House (The Pink House), Legislative Palace (The Congress) Palace of Justice (The Courts).
The three branches of Democracy. Three emblematic buildings in the city of Buenos Aires, Federal District of Argentina. The Congress is the farthest from Hostel Colonial to 13 blocks away in the direction west. The Government House is located 6 blocks away from the hostel in a southerly direction and The Courts are located at 7 blocks from the hostel in a northerly direction.

Today. Saturday at night. Autumn in Buenos Aires. It’s cold. Hostel Colonial makes you a question: Sleep or not sleep?

Think. Girls, boys, good drinks, good music, Saturday in Hostel Colonial. We must raise the temperature. You’re in Argentina and you’ll go to sleep? No. It’s party time at the hostel. It starts here and continues in bars, pubs and discos. Buenos Aires burns on weekends.
Tomorrow? Tomorrow is Sunday.

You are in Argentina. You are in Buenos Aires. The Obelisk, creole pies are dancing, its only marketing, Corrientes Avenue, five blocks up the San Martín street, turn to right, four blocks, The Cathedral and the street name change, now called Bolivar, changes the neighborhood, walk, walk a little more. You’re in San Telmo. Easy. A beautiful walk from Hostel Colonial.

BUENOS AIRES IN DUOTONE – POST 10 – LUNA PARK STADIUM – ARGENTINE MEMORIES

Hostel Colonial invites you to know a little bit about the main theatre-stadium of Buenos Aires: The “Luna Park”. With the same name of many funfairs around the world, the place was founded in 1931 and located just a few blocks from our hostel. The stadium is also known as the “Sports palace”, due to many games and boxing fights that are played in there. Besides of that, The Luna Park also receives lots of famous artists, singers, groups, stars from the whole world that do their shows there.
People like Frank Sinatra, Luciano Pavarotti, Oasis, Shakira, Deep Purple and many national artists have already been in the Luna Park. Theatrical plays, operas and religious events also take place in the famous stadium. The wedding of the daughter of the main soccer stars, one of the Argentina´s simbols, Maradona and the funerals of Carlos Gardel and Julio Sosa, our Tango icons.
Buenos Aires is a city of many theaters and cultural options, and most of the great concerts happen in the Luna Park. Our hostel is waiting for the next one! Join us you too!
